A Quick Thought

I know that an outing is already being organized for tonight, but for those of you who aren't involved in that....

Does anybody want to catch a showing of 'The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra' at Kendall Square on Monday, 2/16? It's showing at 7:35.

I have my heart set on seeing this movie, and it's definitely a situation of The More, The Merrier - aside from the fact that it's going to be a marvelously ludicrous movie, I could use some good social-time right now.

Post or email, and let me know if you want to come along.

Bleh. I of course wanted to mob it with you, seeing as how you discovered it... but I can't make it on Monday. I don't think my outing will impinge on yours much, today seems to have been a peak of bad timing.

Sadly, I have to work, as usual. Keep me in mind for the next thing?

The Lady unfortunately works a 14 hour shift today (until 9pm tonight). Even if there were a late showing, she'd likely be all tuckered out (and deservedly so).

Le sigh! Would love to come along if I didn't have prior international engagements. I can't wait to see this. Will probably see it with Dan and Viv when I return.

*hugs* Be well, 'kay?

well, we ARE seeign it at 10:10pm, but yeah, after a 14 hour day, yuck...

Even without the 14 hour day - it'd leave her one hour and ten minutes to leave work, get home, get something to eat, and reach the cinema. Considering that she's a health-care provider and leaving at precisely 9 PM is not guaranteed, that's cutting it a bit close.

I'm tempted...

...but here's my problem.

It's going to be a bad movie. Fine. But there's a difference between a movie that's bad because it's bad and a movie that's *trying* to be bad. If it doesn't wink at the audience from time to time, we're doomed.

"I want Mike and the bots!"

ps. Let me debate, I may still go see it with you guys

I am probably in, and will consult with [livejournal.com profile] kestrell to see if she wants to come too.

Dear lord -- have you seen the trailers? This doesn't wink at the audience: it pulls them in and tickles them mercilessly. The movie is an *extremely* deliberate satire of bad 1950's sci-fi movies, and looks like a bloody riot, at least if you know the genre that it's satirizing...

I'm definitely interested. I suspect [livejournal.com profile] msmemory is as well, but I'll need to check timing with her...

I'm interested, but dubious on the grounds of Too Many Consecutive Nights Out. (Fri, all of Sat, Sun, Mon...) We'll have to see.

Actually, to save you the trip of being pulled through the screen, they sent cast and crew members to theatre to sit next to the audience and tickle them.

Actually, that's a bit of hyperbole, but they did introduce the movie and take questions. They said they'be be back at the evening showings on Saturday, but I don't know how long they'll do that.

If anyone is still uncertain, this movie is a riot! If they'd put all the funny bits in the trailer, it would have been almost as long as the movie. I'm still sore from laughing.

Can we meet at your place and carpool or something? If so, I'll need directions to your place again because I'm a bit hazy on which house it was.
