Reminder To Myself

There are steps one must take in getting ready for bed. Brush teeth, brush hair, take out contact lenses, and all that fun stuff. And now that winter approaches and heat is on, taking care of my skin is becoming an issue.

For the most part, it doesn't matter in quite what order things get done. I have my routines, but no major catastrophes will result from brushing my teeth after I wash my face, or taking my earrings out after I get undressed. However, life would be much easier if I remembered one simple rule.

Put on chapstick first, *then* put on hand lotion. Otherwise you wind up spending five minutes sliding slippery fingers back and forth across a completely texture-free plastic tube trying desperately to figure out how to get enough of a grip to pull the cap off. Also, your husband will laugh at you.

Grab the cap of the tube with your teeth.

Been there, done that. :)

For me, and hand lotion -- I've got older style lights in my room, they have a little (narrower than a pen) twist knobbie -- tricky, very tricky, with hand lotion.

I was about to say the very same thing! Turn off lamp, then rub in hand lotion... :-)
