i think it's obvious to anyone who listens to you that you are devoted to your job and to helping people and animals. i'm sorry that you had such a bad experience and i hope your new job is better. i can tell you that i've been in a similar situation (i was actually fired for no real reason other than, i can only suppose, that a particular coworker took a disliking to me and she was the prize pet of my inept boss) and it really affects my self-esteem even now; hopefully you will be able to bounce back quicker. bad work environments suck and i guess we just have to keep telling ourselves that it is not all our fault until we actually believe it. good luck with the new job and happy moving on! :)
