Next.....

Today was my first weekday off in a long time. One of my first days off at all in a while, actually, since I had to work this past weekend. I love weekdays off - they're like little surprise gifts, full of chances to get all sorts of projects done that have been building up while you weren't looking. Especially when you're waiting impatiently for something (like, perhaps, the weekend and a gaming convention) to arrive.

So far today I've spent an hour at physical therapy, put together a pot of turkey chowder that's burbling away in the crock pot, paid all my outstanding bills, filed a bunch of tax documents, went on a pre-assignment visit to a practice I'll be working at in May to get my contract with them filled out, deposited a handful of paychecks in my savings account and gotten cash for the weekend, finished the week's grocery shopping, put gas in the car, washed a sinkful of dishes, and balanced my checkbook.

It's midafternoon. I still have the rest of the big empty day ahead of me. What do I do now?

Dinner is more or less hands-off now. Groceries are unpacked. I don't want to start baking for Intercon now; if I do, the cake and brownies will just go stale. It's a bit early to start packing, too. I should rehearse my Babydolls piece at some point, but I'd rather wait until my sweetie is home to give me feedback.

I have a bit of sewing I could do for the con, but that won't take more than a half hour.

Too much time.

Maybe I'll go alphabetize my books. That should take a little while......
