There Is No Bad Here

Apple picking is a sublime goodness.

Waking up early but not too early, tidying the house, drinking tea with friends, hay rides, still-warm cider doughnuts, a morning spent climbing trees, picking apples, and sampling new varieties by eating them straight off the tree is quite possibly the best way I could imagine spending a day.

Coming home after this and baking apple-cheddar scones and apple turnovers, ordering pizza, and heading to the theatre to watch 'Serenity' was just icing on the cake.

I haven't felt this happy, and this comfortable, in a long time. I have a half-bushel of Cortlands and Jonagolds, I have a new box of Yorkshire Blend tea, and I have friends that are equally willing to run around climbing trees or sit in my living room reading and chatting and eating.

It's all good.
