I'm sorry for your loss. Schwa sounds like a remarkable fish. Your grief doesn't sound ridiculous to me. The capacity to love a being so unlike yourself, and to do so without regard to whether or not he returned your love, shows a greatness of heart that can only inspire respect and admiration. We'd all be better off if more of us could love so unconditionally.
