Aren't crockpots the greatest thing ever? Not only do they present you with a hot meal at the end of a long day for not much effort, but also, if you have company in the evening, they make you seem like a culinary genius even though all you actually did was bung some stuff in a pot and turn a dial before you went to work that morning.

(Not that you're not a culinary genius, but, well. I'm not, and my crockpot has repeatedly given people the impression that I am. :)
