They say that if you scaled a hummingbird up to human size, it would need to eat an old-growth forest every day. Sounds like you got got something a bit less frenetic.
Get used to the food thing. It's worst during the emergence, but, yeah, once I demolished an entire candy rack just for the calories after a hard day.
The flying is good, though. Learning is hard. You're not wired to really do it, so it take practice.
I don't know if it helps or not, but I got a massive fever before my wings broke through. I think they called it "eruption". I looked it up later, and it's what they call it when your teeth come in. Anyway, thing was I was mostly delirious for the actual process. They say everyone's different...still, I hope it helps.
