I would have been about 12 or 13 when I developed my first crushes (on both a classmate and a fictional figure) at roughly the same time. The classmate was a cute cheerleader my age named Isis (seriously) and, as you'd expect, she barely knew I existed. The fictional crush, like so many other geek boys my age, was on Kitty Pryde (cute, Jewish superhero who was my age, what's not to love).

The first celebrity crush is trickier. I had crushes about that time on Lynda Carter, Yvonne Craig, and Erin Gray, but those were really on the fictional characters that those beautiful women played. The first celebrity I can recall having a crush on that wasn't mixed in with a fictional character was probably Susanna Hoffs (who's still damn hot). But The Bangles didn't hit the scene until after the other ones I've mentioned, so it wouldn't count as a "first crush."
