Pulling The Blanket Up Over My Head

I have been trying all day to be cheerful and pleasant and maintain a positive outlook, and to be productive and hardworking and get stuff done.

I give up.

I am, as of now, curling up on the sofa in a little ball and pulling an afghan over myself. I am ditching my cooking plans for the night and ordering out instead. I am not going to do laundry, or clean the living room, or work out, or compose business letters, or anything. For once, I am going to slack the hell off. I'm not doing anyone else's work. And my work can all wait for a day.

I am going to lie here, and read stupid stuff on the internet, and maybe watch cheesy dance television, and play Nethack, and generally be a waste of carbon until I am tired enough to fall asleep without having nightmares.

Tomorrow I'll be good again. Tonight.... no.

Wow, it sounds like you've had a truly awful day. (I sympathize; mine has sucked pretty badly too.) I hope you get all the cheesy dance television and Nethack that you need. Sometimes an evening like that is the best option.

Abdicating from the world for an evening is sometimes just what's needed. Hope you feel better of the morrow.

Hah. No one is obligated to be "on" all the time, and for some days, curling up in a ball is the right option.

Good for you!

I understand. Sometimes you need that. Hope it is enjoyable and therapeutic.

Feel better!

(And give a holler when you've got time for hanging out; the weather looks to be improving on a nearly day-to-day basis.)

Hope the recharging of batteries succeeded and the next days be kinder.
