The definition of "edible" that some of the respondents to this entry are using has me concerned. *grin*

To some extent, this depends on whether you're looking just for candy or for anything edible, and what your preferences are in food. There are frequently gourmet assortments of pretzels/popcorns/etc. that are flavored.

If you do any candymaking or baking, maybe you can convince him to get something you would use in it? (Or, hey, edible gold leaf!) If not, I am fond of jellies which are, uh, kind of high-class gummy candies. There are some that are sour that I like a lot, just because they counter the traditional sweetness of candy. Some of the really good quality dried fruit is excellent too, if you're looking for something a little different.
