Behold, The Power of Stubborn!

Dress is completely assembled. All that's left now is putting in the grommets, hemming, and adding trim. It's amazing how much I can get done once I get off my sorry backside and get to work. And when I get frustrated enough to stay up past 1am fighting with gores to get them to lay properly....

Last night's major crafting discovery, though, was that unwanted BPAL can, in fact, be used to scent homemade soaps. Though measuring just how much to add is a bit difficult; I now have an *extremely* strongly scented bar of Lady Macbeth soap.

In somewhat related news, I don't suppose any locals out there might want a bar or two of homemade soap? I have been forced to admit that I'm making the stuff faster than I can use it, and the major block on experimenting further is the knowledge that it's just sitting around taking up space - I can't justify making more until I get rid of at least a little of what I have already....

Hah! I sometimes run into the same problem with candle making; maybe we should work out a trade?

(At least your Lady MacBeth soap should be good at ridding your home of unwanted dogs. "Out damned Spot!")

I would delight in homemade soap. Especially if someday you'll teach me how to make it. (I came across a product called a "felted soap" at a pagan conference and ever since then have wanted to try to whip up my own.)

The problem with Lady MacBeth soap is that the damned spots just won't go away.

You try spraying, you try soaking . . .

I'd be interested. E-mail me with what you have that you're willing to get rid of (I assume it's all scented, even if not all BPAL), and we can arrange for pickup of a few bars when I'm up there.
