Life List

One of the side effects of planning trips and organizing and things like that is that I've been thinking a lot lately about stuff I want to do. And I realize that I've been incredibly lucky so far in my life, in that I've managed to do a surprising amount of the Things I Want To Do Before I Die, already.

(Not that I'm ever going to die, but without a deadline like that it just winds up being Things I Want To Do Someday, which isn't nearly as impactful.)

I've gone hang gliding, and sky diving, and snorkeling with manatees. I've acted, danced, and written, all professionally (at least technically). I've written and run a LARP, I've moved to Boston, I've walked in the Susan G. Komen 3 Day, I've saved a human life...

And that has left me with the realization that most of the things left on my life-list are, at this point, rather large and some combination of costly and unlikely.

Travel to Venice
Dance with John Travolta
Leave the planet
Go to London, eat beef chow mein at Lee Ho Fook's
Be immortalized in every form of art possible (okay, this one has been kind of back-burnered)
Learn every form of dance in the world
Become a consultant for Hollywood on the subject of accurate science in TV and movies
Eat fugu
Get my name into a movie's credits

So... I'm not going to abandon any of those plans, not by a long shot - I fully intend to actually follow through on all of them. But I need to start thinking of additional, more easily-hit goals, as well. I've got a few -

Actually take a cake decorating class
Learn to surf
Become good enough at tango that I can actually go out and do it in public
Learn how to sing
Be an extra in a movie
Work a single project sheep to shawl (or at least spin the yarn myself, then make something from it)

....and I'm sure I'll think of more, but I'm only one person, and I have some darn creative friends. So tell me, folks, what sort of things do you think I should do before I die? And what's on your Life List?

With a werewolf?

I've done this one!

Be an extra in a movie

I can help you out with that. I'm currently doing a lot of extra work. It's not as fun as you think '-)

If'n we're both in London at the same time, I'll be happy to go to Lee Ho Fook's with you, so you can turn to me and say, "He'll rip your lungs out, Jim!"

I've traveled to Venice. It's not at all _that_ costly or unlikely, and it's ever so worth it. (Seriously, Venice at the top of my short list of favorite places I've ever been.)

Also, as far as getting your name into movie credits - what sort of a movie counts? (For example, would 48 Hour Film Project? They have those in Boston, and I'd be astonished if you don't have friends of friends who do it.)

Y'know, I want to go to Venice myself, but I want people with whom to travel....

You could get your name in movie credits by being the production vet on a film set where animals are involved. Or do you actually want to be on screen?
