In my endless war against meaningless gerunds (most recently and vehemently waged against Wyoming), I have come across another offender that I must take action against.

I am perfectly fond of dumplings. I've made them several times, and they're quite tasty in soup. But.... please answer if you can - how, exactly, does one dumple?
