Lucky Coincidence

The first week I worked at this clinic, one of the technicians glanced into my bag, saw the book I was reading, and exclaimed, "Simon Green? He's one of my favorite authors - if you like his stuff, have you read...." and rattled off the names of three or four of the best urban fantasy writers I know. Since then, she and I have been swapping author recommendations and books like mad.

Today - the second week I've worked there - I was chatting with another doctor and tech about hobbies. The tech mentioned that she had taken tap dance lessons at one point, and I started talking about the fact that a friend of mine wanted to teach me how to tap. The tech immediately asked what my shoe size was. It turned out that she had a pair of new, unused tap shoes in my size that she had bought online and were too big for her, that she was willing to sell me for half price.

I can't wait to see what's going to fall into my lap next week....
