Can It Be Over Yet?
Some days just suck. Big, nasty, mean, achy, crummy, miserable suckage. Even when they start out with sunshine and tea and easy commutes with the window down, there's a destiny of suckitude hiding inside that nothing can crush or eliminate. There are some days that not even Cadbury Creme Eggs, hot baths, and a new Charles DeLint book can completely redeem.
The happy, sunshiney commute ends with you at a cheerful and familiar office full of friendly coworkers, missing equipment, inadequate textbooks, pain in the ass clients, violent and unpredictably aggressive dogs, Mystery Diseases, surgical complications, overscheduling, and understaffing, until it finally ends with you sawing the head off a greyhound on the back sink with a dull rusty hacksaw a half hour after closing, with a stack of someone else's callbacks that you still have to finish waiting on your desk and that sinking unpleasant feeling that only comes when you're gnawingly hungry and vaguely sickened by your surroundings at the same time.
Yeah. It was like that. I can't even make it into a proper Wacky Veterinary Adventure, because it was just too depressing and annoying and upsetting to really mock and laugh about. Some things are funny because they're true, but I've been trying all night to find a way to turn this into a humorous story and it just isn't happening.
I need sympathy, and hugs, and distractions, and cheery flowers, and to never, ever, ever have to live through this day again.

Hopefully I'll be able to see you at least at some point in the vague future - if I can ever get in touch with a GM, I'm hoping to play in the next episode of 'Brassy's Men'....

Did I tell you I'm planning to make the dress from the painting "Meeting on the Turret Stairs"?

Care to make any guesses as to where it should be fastened? I'm thinking a front closure, but Melisande swears it should lace up the side.
Done any good dancing lately?

Dancing is going fairly well. I'm trying not to think about the fact that I'm likely to have to do some teaching soon....

The best part of some days is that moment when we can cross them off the calendar. This seems to have been such a day, but at least it's crossed off now. Maybe you'll get a surprisingly good day sometime soon as a reward? I certainly hope so.

Ack!
Re: Ack!
Does that ever stop?
And what are you doing Thursday? I don't have anything scheduled; lunch could definitely happen....
