Memo To Myself

Dear Brain:

You can either
A: Whine incessantly at me about how overweight we are, or
B: Whine incessantly at me about how annoying it is that our new Size 2 jeans don't fit because they're too baggy at the waist.

Choose one. You don't get to have it both ways; they just don't share a reality. And the jeans are a lot more objective.

I don't know about you, but I'm going to go put on a tight sweater and some lipgloss and enjoy a Good Hair Day while it's happening.

Love,
The Girl In The Mirror

There seem to be a conspiracy amongst jean manufacturers - you see the "ideal" of a curvy woman, but all the jeans have waistlines that would only fit a stick-straight female without a definable waist.

Me? I've collected a nice set of belts to get the waistlines to fit :-(

Stick-straight and neither sit down nor bend over since both those make waists gap horribly, at least on me. I tried jeans shopping yesterday, so the pain is still fresh.

You might want to try Lane Bryant's right fit jeans. They have three body types, stick-straight, slightly curved, and really curvy. I'm actually about halfway between the first two, which means that for the first time in my life I have jeans that are tighter in the hips than the waist rather than the other way around. The only thing is, Lane Bryant is for plus sizes. I wear about an 18 in normal sizes, a 14 in other Lane Bryant jeans, and a 2 in the right fit sizes, so the size 1's would be around a size 16. If you are smaller than this, you're out of luck.

A friend of mine is currently irate with the Gap for following the low-rider trend. Dagnabit, she doesn't want to look like Britney Spears...
