No. Just No.

Yesterday someone rear-ended me at a traffic light on my way to work. Left a couple dings in my bumper. I thought that was a big deal.

Ha.

So today, on my way home from work, I decided to stop by Michael's to pick up a piece of stitchery that they had framed for me. And some goddamned flake went tearing through the parking lot at ludicrous speed and PUNCHED A FUCKING HOLE IN THE SIDE OF MY CAR. Smashed right through the passenger door. My car is a twisted, helpless wreck.

At least the cops were nice this time.

My head is killing me. My hands won't stop shaking. And I can't bear the thought of driving to work tomorrow. What's going to happen this time? A train jumping the tracks and running me over?

I really, really didn't need this.

My poor car....

Edited to add: I was in the car. Driving on the road that goes through the parking lot. This was an action-collision, not an oops-hit-a-parked-car.

And I have a ten-hour shift tomorrow that I can't get out of. 40 miles away.

Grump.

Eeek!

Are you sure you can't call tomorrow's work office and tell them you were in a car accident and need to get checked out?

Yeah, I'm sure.

Part of being a relief vet is knowing that I *am* the emergency backup. I'm working because the regular doctor can't be there; there's noone who can cover for me when I'm in trouble. It's one of the risks, and part of why I get paid as much as I do.

I've got Thursday off; if there's anything wrong, I can get checked out then....

Whoa! Getting checked out, the sooner the better = A Good Thing.
Meanwhile, the tips about a hot bath and warm bed to help your muscles, as well as the rest of your body & mind, relax seems like a good idea.

I'm just bloody glad for you that it was the passenger side...
