No. Just No.

Yesterday someone rear-ended me at a traffic light on my way to work. Left a couple dings in my bumper. I thought that was a big deal.
Ha.
So today, on my way home from work, I decided to stop by Michael's to pick up a piece of stitchery that they had framed for me. And some goddamned flake went tearing through the parking lot at ludicrous speed and PUNCHED A FUCKING HOLE IN THE SIDE OF MY CAR. Smashed right through the passenger door. My car is a twisted, helpless wreck.
At least the cops were nice this time.
My head is killing me. My hands won't stop shaking. And I can't bear the thought of driving to work tomorrow. What's going to happen this time? A train jumping the tracks and running me over?
I really, really didn't need this.
My poor car....
Edited to add: I was in the car. Driving on the road that goes through the parking lot. This was an action-collision, not an oops-hit-a-parked-car.
And I have a ten-hour shift tomorrow that I can't get out of. 40 miles away.
Grump.
Ha.

Date: 2008-10-22 01:31 am (UTC)Ok, universe, enough, already. I can handle the several days of level 8+ migraine plus the fibro stuff, but stop picking on my friends, dammit.
(*candle lit for you, nonspecific intentions other than "things go well")
(Also, I'd recommend a long hot soak with lavender, chamomile tea, arnica, and see a doctor tomorrow, or tonight if the head pain continues. And whatever contact with friends, be it in RL or online, that you find comforting.)

Will you be at OVFF?

Will this effect this weekend? Do I need to worry about getting you around?

Date: 2008-10-22 02:03 am (UTC)Blessedly, other than the headache and shaky hands, I'm fine. And Arnis's car still works, so I should have no problem getting everything to the shows as planned.

Date: 2008-10-22 03:02 am (UTC)Part of being a relief vet is knowing that I *am* the emergency backup. I'm working because the regular doctor can't be there; there's noone who can cover for me when I'm in trouble. It's one of the risks, and part of why I get paid as much as I do.
I've got Thursday off; if there's anything wrong, I can get checked out then....

Holy crap!
*looks sideways at the universe, wondering what in the blazes is going on*
I'm glad you're OK. *hugs* I'm boggled enough that I'm not sure I have anything else coherent to say. Gads.

If you feel like getting together with Vikki & I on Saturday before you head up for your show, let me know.

Date: 2008-10-22 03:23 am (UTC)However, it is good that you're OK and apparently unharmed. I'm very sorry about your car, but I'm very relieved to know you're OK.

Date: 2008-10-22 03:28 am (UTC)Please pay attention to your body tomorrow so you can give the doctor all the information you can on Thursday.
Congratulate yourself on getting through this. Congratulate yourself for surviving. Congratulate yourself for having the presence of mind to talk to the police and to call umbran for help. Congratulate yourself for realizing that you still have responsibility, and once you've fulfilled that obligation, congratulate yourself for doing that.
Lord,
It seems as though our lives are one test after another,
Always weighing ourselves in somebody else's balance.
Grant that we may take the coming test
Neither too seriously
Nor too lightly, Lord,
But that it may reflect the best of our studies
And the best of what we have been taught.
Amen.
