Unmitigated Whining

Today has sucked. I'm sure I've had worse days in my life, but I really can't think of any, off the top of my head. And it wasn't even anything all that bad - just.... too many things, all in a row.

Nightmares all night, AGAIN, marking the third or fourth night in a row where I haven't actually gotten enough decent sleep to make myself functional.

Four out of ten patients with terminal or untreatable diagnoses, at least one with an owner who was truly... a challenge to communicate with.

Halfway through the day got bitten by a cat, through the base of my fingernail. Can't wait to see what that feels like once it starts swelling. On antibiotics now - the kind that make you throw up like crazy.

Oh yeah, and the cat wasn't vaccinated against rabies. So I might be rabid, too.

Home in time to realize that one of the ingredients for dinner was missing, leading to me having about fifteen minutes to eat before rehearsal.

Drove to rehearsal, spent 20 minutes looking for a parking spot for 25 minutes of rehearsing.

Home again, only to find that the CD I need to start practicing for another performance is missing. In the process of looking for it, lose the capture bead from my favorite bellybutton ring (gold circle, with a gold and CZ bead). Without the bead, the ring is useless, and the store won't sell me a replacement bead, so that's $75 we can't afford just thrown away.

Spent the past hour and a half crawling all over the living room, looking for the damn bead, because I can't afford to replace the ring. Somehow, defying all laws of physics and reality, it has rolled out of existence. However, in the process of looking, I have managed to rip off one fingernail below the quick, and knock a pointy box onto my own head.

I want to sit in a corner and cry. Today is so fired.

Want me to come over and help you look for the bead? (I have had success in similar circumstances, on occasion.)

That sounds like an utterly miserable day. Lots and lots of big *hugs*.

Wow. Hopefully getting that put helped. That was one hell of a day.
With the cat bite and subsequent antibiotic reaction can you rest up today and recharge?

[identity profile] ladysprite.livejournal.com 2009-04-28 11:56 am (UTC)(link)
Alas, no. Hour-plus commute, full work day that was double-booked before I left last night, and a dance class I can't cancel tonight. *sigh*

At least with the antibiotics I'll be able to keep up the weight loss that started with the surgery?

You definitely deserve to whine. Yikes, what a day.

I thought I replied, but I don't see my post.

I have a friend who does beading. I bet you could find the missing bead in one of the catalogs she has.

(Long, gentle hugs and much sympathy, strength, and healing vibes sent)

Please let me know if there's anything I can do.

that's not whining, my dear. it's perfectly understandable and necessary venting.

::hugs::

Sitting in a corner and crying after a day like that sounds as likely to help as anything else. Somewhere I read that crying stimulates the immune system. Don't know if it's true, but hey, it couldn't hurt.

I've been on those antibiotics. What helped me was to take a good probiotic midway between each two doses of antibiotic. If I'm on the 12-hour version, I take the probiotic every 4 hours. It doesn't completely prevent the side effects, but it helps. There's at least a few hours during which my gut has somewhat more normal biota than it otherwise would.

May things be much, much better tomorrow!

Hope the next day is better. As for food, I keep a number of health-food bars handy, they are great for a quick snack or meal, especially when headed to dance.
