Slogging Through
I know there are worse things in the world than waking up with a headache. I just can't think of any right now.
Because when you wake up with a headache, it's there for the long haul. A headache that shows up halfway through the day, you can usually point to the cause and do something about it. Waking-up headaches are just a part of you, like your arm or your nose, and you just have to learn to work with it or around it. I've tried every cure I can think of, and right now I'm just left hoping that, as mysteriously as it turned up this morning, it'll be gone tomorrow morning.
Oh, well. In the meantime, I have blackberries. And I have a beautiful new Elizabethan gown that I get to wear for dress rehearsal tonight. And a crown, that weighs more than my head and probably will do more for the headache than it does for me, but at least I only need it for a couple of scenes. But anyway, this is my positive paragraph. Blackberries. New garb. A new bracelet, too, and a big bottle of diet coke, and a crafting project that will, if I'm lucky, distract me at least for a little while. I will make do.
