Crafts Time!

A little while ago I mentioned a fundraising project that [livejournal.com profile] tpau and I were planning in order to help raise money for the Susan G. Komen 3 Day for the Cure that we're going to be participating in this summer. Finally, details have been worked out, times have been confirmed, and we can start planning for real. So....

What: A Community Crafts Day, Raffle, and Auction
When: Saturday, April 24th, noon-5pm
Where: Camelot Cohousing Community, Berlin, MA

Details: We're trying to put together the biggest, best bake sale and crafts fair you've ever seen, and I think we can do it. I know that enough of my friends are talented artists, artisans, and bakers, and we should be able to get an amazing collection of treats and goodies for sale.

We're also collecting some pretty amazing prizes to be raffled and auctioned off at the same time - we've been lucky enough so far to get prizes from such diverse businesses as the Boston Babydolls, Tealuxe, Burdick's Chocolates, Prospect Hill Forge, Three Trolls Games, the talented author [livejournal.com profile] seanan_mcguire, and at least a handful of others that I can't remember right now.

So mark your calendars, spread the word, and please come. Bring something to donate, either to the bake sale, crafts fare, or raffle - it can be as simple as a batch of cookies or some knitted toys, though we'll gladly accept more grandiose offerings as well. And bring some spending money, buy some treats that other folks made, and get a few raffle tickets. I think it'll be a lot of fun.

Feel free to forward this information far and wide - and if you're an out-of-towner who wants to send goodies, just let me know and I'll pass on my snail-mail address.

And, as always, if you want to donate directly, please do - http://www.the3day.org/goto/drbecky

Thanks so much, and hopefully I'll see you there!

I have one item to donate to you for it and money for another item that sold at the last event I was at....I will give it to you at Intercon.

Thank you so much - we really appreciate this!

I will try to make something in the steampunk vein for this, but I unfortunately can make no promises what with my life and living situation being in flux.

Worry not, hon - I know things are really rough for you right now, and you need to take care of yourself first. I'd like it if you guys could come to the event itself; it'd be good to see you. But making something, while nice, is totally not necessary - that falls into the 'above and beyond the call of duty' category.

I might bake something, I'll try to remember to touch base with you after Passover.

Thank you so much! I know you've got a lot on your hands right now, so even the thought means a lot to me.....

I'd very much like to contribute, I just can't think beyond Passover right now. But feel free to remind me...

Poking my head out from the post-Passover reshuffling, and realizing the bake sale isn't that far away now... give me an idea of what kind of thing you'd like, and when I should plan to get it to you?

Checking in again... if you'd still like me to bake something, please let me know ASAP. Thanks!

sorry, I didn't ever get the previous comment. :( I'd love for you to bake something; anything is good - though cookies of some sort would probably be safest and go over well. As for when to get it to me.... hm, Thursday before the sale?

Thank you so much!

Glad I can do something to help! I have a late meeting that night, would probably have to be either Friday afternoon or Wednesday night - unless you'd be able to swing by the house, I could leave them (whatever they turn out to be) packed up for you.
