By Hook Or By Crook...

...I have got to salvage something good out of this day.

The sun is shining. That's something. I can't see it - there are no windows here - but I can occasionally get a glimpse out the front door when I'm going from one appointment to the next, and the lack of gray is heartening.

There are only 4 1/2 hours left. I'm halfway done. And there's only one more workday left in the week after this.

No matter how bad the day is, it will end eventually. Time will pass, and then it will be time for my shift to end. And about half an hour or more after that, I will actually be done and ready to go, and my husband will be waiting for me in the lobby, willing to carry my bag as we walk home in the non-rainy evening, and there will be dinner already waiting for me because I was smart on Monday and made enough food to feed us for most of the week.

The best thing about today is that it is, ultimately, finite.

And not raining.

It's a start.

And you really are, in fact, surrounded (albeit virtually and in spirit) by friends and acquaintances who always care about how you are doing, how to can brighten up your day and ultimately contribute to realization that tomorrow will be better than today.

Will send a few of my spoons - I think I can spare 'em.

The day is finite and the sun is shining indeed. *beams at you*

Comfort/hugs offered.

I was thinking of you today, because SJ Tucker is going to be at OVFF and I was therefore hoping you'd be at OVFF, not just because that would make OVFF a convergence of awesomeness, but, hey, you'd also be near enough to hear her sing if you wanted to (and if you don't want to, because you haven't, so much the better, you might listen and love her music).
