How I Spent My Lockdown

....finishing a project that has been in progress for over two years, now.





Most recent cross-stitch project - Told In A Garden's 'Celtic Autumn.' Alas, it took so long because about a quarter of the way into it I got rather tired of the color scheme, and the border pattern bored the heck out of me, but I am stubborn and I wanted to finish it. And I'm glad I did, because the end result is gorgeous.

Now I just need to find the time and funds to get it framed, and figure out what to do with it.

(Next project is already lined up, supplies bought, and linen about to be basted onto the stitching frame. I am a sad little addict....)

Thank you! My original plan was to do at least a couple of them, but the border on this was such a pain in the butt that I don't know if I'm going to - I have enough other patterns in my to-do list that I'd rather work on instead....

Do you generally work on one project at a time? What happens when you get tired of a project (work on something else, just don't stitch)?

(I have my own anal little method for working on multiple things, feel free to ask me sometime and we can cross stitch geek.)

I generally work on one project of a given craft-type at a time. When I get tired with one project, I move to a different craft - when I'm bored with cross-stitch I'll go crochet or spin for a while, until I get tired of that and move back to stitching.

It works for me - keeps me from getting tired of what I'm doing, but it also means I don't wind up with projects that get lost or forgotten or never returned to....
