If Wishes Were Fishes

Random thought of the day for today -

I want to be a millionaire library superhero. I want to be stupendously wealthy so I can make an enormous lending library, and network it into all of the current library networks, so that never again would anyone have to say, 'Gosh, I really want to read X book, but I'm broke, and none of the libraries around here have it in their system!'

I'm sure there would need to be some finagling, at least for the ebook component, to figure out digital rights so that authors don't get hosed. But if I were a millionaire, I could hire someone to make sure that happened.

Libraries are already amazing. But with a superhero millionaire patron, they could be even more so....

...but not a real green book, that's cruel.

(This is an awesome dream.)

Hopefully, you wouldn't need to murder a bunch of employees first, like the last one did.

If you want to borrow ebooks, you can get the Overdrive Media app -- just plug in your library card number and away you go. But having a millionaire buy extra digital copies would help out lots, no doubt!

(I would also establish a trust to maintain our local Carnegie library, which is an awesome building and I went there every two weeks like clockwork as a child. http://www.munciepubliclibrary.org/hours-and-locations/)
