Aspirin? I think I had a slightly tougher variant.
My mom noticed the first signs, a couple of days later I was in the hospital unable to keep anything down, and within 48 hours I was too weak to sit up, with about 3 red blood cells to my name.
I made it through just fine, eventually, but it required about a week in ICU....
