Fool Me Once
Sep. 25th, 2004 10:52 pmSurprises are good. Sushi is good. Parties are good. My coworkers are angels.
I went out tonight with a former coworker, who promised me dinner and a chance to hang out and chat, just the two of us. Apparently, she managed to put together a mini-surprise party with half a dozen of the coworkers I truly like, and I spent the entire evening being decorated with feather boas and sparkly 'BRIDE' buttons and fed extremely good sushi and pad thai. I even have a Wedding Barbie doll, complete with veil and tiara, to wave in people's face if they forget that it's my Special Daaaay.
It was ridiculous, and fun, and completely unexpected, and utterly delightful. As much as I fret over whether everthing is going to be smooth and fun and perfect for the guests, and what kind of impression our wedding is going to make on everyone else, it felt awfully good to be focused on and spoiled for an evening.
I am now fortified to face the last few weeks.
