Just A Statement
Jan. 13th, 2005 08:55 pmI do not ever plan on having children of my own. I'm far too insecure and selfish; I like being able to do what I want whenever I want, and I don't think I could survive the first teenage ranting of 'I hate you, you ruined my life, and I need a ride to the mall NOW!' I have cats, that's enough of a commitment for me.
However, I would like to publicly thank all of my friends who have decided, for some reason, that this is the year to breed. You have all given me the much-needed excuse to coo endlessly over patterns for crocheting and knitting ickle adorable blankies and onesies and booties and all sorts of other baby accoutrements that end in -ies. I will be happily up to my eyeballs in baby crafting projects for the next year. I can buy all the yarn and pattern books I want - they're for babies, after all! Babies will freeze and die without little crocheted lace gowns! It's community service, not a waste of my time and money!
I wonder if I could ever find a way to justify making baby blankets and garments out of those marvelously horrid muppet-hide-looking novelty yarns.....
