1) Even though Old Navy's commercials are so incredibly annoying that they make my eyes bleed, their clothing is actually surprisingly decent. Especially when I'm looking for work clothes, although their selection is slightly hampered by not having any pants that start at my waist and end at my ankles.

2) Although they're not decent for work, ultra-low-rise pants are a lot more comfortable than I would have expected - and they look damn good. I may need to reconsider my near-total refusal to wear slacks outside of work.

3) As long as I can still fit in the sizes I fit in, I really have no grounds for calling myself fat. No, I'm not going to name numbers. This is just a kick in the rear to my own subconscious.

4) The Fire Mountain Gems catalogue weighs more than the proceedings from my annual veterinary continuing education conference. It is also much more fun to read. This probably means something.

5) When in doubt, reread 'Gone With The Wind.' Rereading books is not a crime, nor does it make me a bad and shallow person.

6) Donating blood when I'm already having issues with fatigue is probably less than smart. However, it does provide circumstancial evidence that, whatever is wrong with me, it's not anemia.

7) Donating blood, and therefore possibly being slightly low on iron after the fact, is a wonderful excuse to buy Ghirardelli brownie mix. I need the chocolate for medical reasons right now.

8) There are, in fact, not enough hours in the day to do everything.
