Fifteen days until Hawaii. Fifteen days.
Fifteen days until I pack up my bags and hop on an airplane to travel somewhere new - honestly, while eleven hours on a plane isn't necessarily something most people look forward to, I'm almost as excited about the trip as the destination. I'll be going somewhere, and doing something, that I've never done before.
Fifteen days until I arrive in the land of warm, sunshiney weather. I've already bought sundresses and sunglasses and a cute hat and large quantities of sunscreen and a new swimsuit, and I can't wait to just be there.
Fifteen days until snorkeling and walking through the botanical gardens and just sprawling on Waikiki beach until all the misery just leaches out of my system and into the sand and the ocean. Fifteen days until I get to romp around the Polynesian Cultural Center like an overgrown eight-year-old, getting my face painted like a tribal warrior and learning the excruciatingly basic first fundamentals of hula
Meanwhile, while this is not Hawaii, it's not the worst place in the world either. It's almost 8am and I'm not at work, which is surprisingly nice - I should search out afternoon shifts more often. I have a cat on my lap, a new episode of 'So You Think You Can Dance' tonight, and a Rockapella concert this weekend.
And in a little more than a week, I'll be in Hawaii.
