Y'know....

I find it endlessly amusing when a performing group tries to add modern references to Shakespeare in an attempt to make it more amusing to modern crowds, and the original dialogue still winds up getting more laughs than anything they add in.

That said, the Commonwealth Shakespeare Company's free production of 'Taming Of The Shrew' is fabulous. I've enjoyed all of their shows that I've seen, but I do think their comedies shine more than the others. And I adore living in a city that both provides free Shakespeare performances every summer and that has enough people who want to see it that the Commons is half-packed an hour before showtime on a weeknight.....
