In an effort to forcibly pull myself out of a rather unpleasant anxiety and pessimism cycle, I'm stealing a friend's idea and trying to come up with a list of Good Things about today. Let's see if I can do it...

1) It's Friday. Out of work at a normal hour this evening, and no work this weekend.

2) I have a new doumbek, and it's lovely and it sounds amazing and it seems to like me just fine. (Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] goldenoak!

3) I have a beautiful bouquet of flowers that my husband gave me as a surprise earlier this week.

4) I'm halfway through reading the new Kelly Armstrong book, and it's as good as I had expected.

5) TWoP is recapping 'So You Think You Can Dance,' so I can go peek into the discussion groups there and see what other like-minded dance geeks think about the Top 20 they just announced last night.

6) It's lovely and sunny outside.

7) I get to sneak out of the clinic this afternoon to promote the clinic at local pet venues with my boss.

8) There are leftover brownies in the fridge, so I can have dessert tonight without having to expend any effort.

9) I smell like melons and pears and other lovely sweet things. (Titania, for the other BPAL addicts reading this)

10) I have a new issue of Cooks Illustrated waiting for me when I come home. (Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] jducoeur!)

Bonus #11) Apparently, many of the things I have to feel good about stem from the fact that I am surrounded by kind, good, loving friends. Which is worth more than everything else on this list.
