I find it rather fascinating that I'm only now, at the age of thirtymumble, having my first ugly, unpleasant breakup - and it's with a house.
Goodbye, house-that-we-were-trying-to-buy. I should have known better than to trust love at first sight, but I'm leaving this relationship a sadder but wiser girl. I've learned that looks aren't everything, and that a relationship needs a stable foundation in order to last. I wish you had been straightforward with us from the start, if you hadn't planned on being as committed as we were, but there's nothing to be gained by dwelling on could-have-beens.
And now I re-enter the market, desperately seeking The One. I've been shaken by our relationship, and I won't be quite so quick to trust next time, but I think I'm ready to move on and start seeing other houses at this point.
I'll always remember you....
