Escape From D.C.
Jul. 24th, 2007 07:41 amAs I mentioned, I had several learning experiences at the conference I attended in D.C. I learned how to navigate the Metro, which is remarkably similar to the T here in Boston. I learned about ophthalmic drugs, and the latest advances in bunny anesthesia, and treatment for various forms of liver disease. And, most of all, I learned that I am never, ever flying to Our Nation's Capital again.
Getting there wasn't too difficult, aside from a minor miscommunication with my host about the expected date and time of my arrival. And navigating around during the week was easy enough, thanks to several extremely helpful friends. But apparently the area did not want me to leave, because every transportation mishap known to man managed to smack me in the face on my way home.
( Cut, because it's one hell of a long story..... )
