Happiness, Day 6 - Belated
Dec. 20th, 2008 01:33 pmOops. Looks like I missed a couple days there. On the other hand, to be perfectly honest, I had a couple of days where there wasn't too much to be happy about. The bad news started Thursday night and continued rolling in hour-by-hour until I fell asleep late last night.
On the other hand... it could still be worse. And I did manage to fall asleep, and wake up, and it's a new day, and nothing has collapsed yet. So far. Fingers crossed. Knock wood.
A lot of what's making me happy right now is just the fact that it's daytime, and the sun is, if not visible behind the clouds, at least somewhat present. I am a creature of daylight and sunlight, and while I'm not sure I've got full-fledged Seasonal Affective Disorder, I am certainly possessed of much less cope and much more worry in the dark, late hours.
It's daytime. It's snowing - lightly enough not to be a problem, but just enough to keep the snow from last night looking white and smooth and pretty, rather than dingy and gray. The Broadway radio show is entertaining me in the background, I have a crockpot full of good-smelling food percolating, and in an hour or so I'll be on my way to a friend's house.
In the meantime, it's cold outside and warm inside, which is one of the nicest feelings I can imagine. And I've got graphic novels, cats, and an angel of a husband who is patient, loving, kind, and has been taking care of me through a whole bunch of recent melodrama.
Many happy things.....
