I should be at an SCA event, right now, dancing myself silly. I've been looking forward to it for months - I haven't had a lot of opportunities for Renaissance dance lately, and I miss it fiercely.
Barring that, I should be at a friend's house right now, swapping BPAL and chatting and making plans to go out for pie.
And barring that, I should be at another friend's house, helping her cook and prepare for next week's SCA event.
Instead, I am on my sofa in a NyQuil semicoma, fighting the Head Cold Of Doom, and so short of breath that typing too fast leaves me winded. This is supremely unfair.
I shouldn't gripe too much, though. At least 'Bye Bye Birdie' is on TV, and I have handwork that isn't too mentally or physically engaging. And I have friends online to keep me company, and at least I'm not missing financially vital work hours.
Still, I can't help but feel extraordinarily put-upon by the world at large. Or at least a very small but vindictive virus....
