I Have No Words

tpau and I held a fundraiser today, to raise money for our participation in the Susan G. Komen 3 Day Walk for Breast Cancer Research.

We sold cookies, and handmade crafty stuff. We raffled off a bunch of incredibly awesome donated prizes, and auctioned off some even cooler prizes. A whole bunch of people showed up, and made it an amazing, and fun, and triumphant day. People donated an amazing variety of things - beautiful jewelry, custom-made handwork, lessons of all sorts, delicious baked goods - and even more people showed up and bought these things, in mind-breaking amounts.

All told, we wound up raising over $1300 today, all of which will go to the 3 Day.

I'm crying right now as I write this. I had high hopes for this event, but never in my wildest dreams had I imagined it could be this successful. And we couldn't have done this without each and every one of our friends who helped out, by making things, by spreading the word, and by donating.

I can't thank you all enough. We made a difference today. And in the middle of a year where everything seems to be sputtering and floundering and failing, it feels unbelievably good to have something go so, so right.
