Because mental exercise is as important and helpful as physical exercise....

Five Good Things For Today:

1) My voice is back. Still scratchy and hoarse, but back. Oh, voice, I never realized how much I love you and need you. Please, never leave me again....

2) I managed to work out today, for the first time in weeks. It was a short, easy little Pilates workout, and it left me shaky, but it's a start.

3) I have an amazing, loving, supportive circle of friends who are there for me, care for me, and, when I can't take care of myself, will step in and help carry the load for a little while, without judging or making me feel like I'm weak for needing it.

4) Burying myself in old favorite stories - right now, "The Armless Maiden And Other Tales for Childhood's Survivors," edited by Terri Windling. Not the happiest reading material in the world, but right now it is familiar, bittersweet solace.

5) Discussing the possibility with my husband that "Glee" is saving up for an all-ABBA episode. Even if it never happens, I can daydream....
