After two and a half weeks of double-booked double shifts....
After three days of oppressive heat and humidity that left me feeling like I was trying to breathe through a wet sponge....
After stress and exhaustion made communicating with almost anyone an ordeal on par with juggling razor-edged sofas....
After two hours stuck in traffic driving home from work tonight, in a car with no air conditioning....
....the first peal of thunder sounds like release and salvation, and it is so beautiful and welcome and needed that it makes me want to cry. And I know that the air will be breathable again, and I am home, and everything will be all right.
My true Father speaks to me, and no matter who else I may follow, what lens I see the world and the divine through, I know I will always be partly His.
Now, let the rain come and wash away everything bad, and send me into the rest of the weekend clean and loved and at peace.
