Running On Empty

I hate doing this, but I have to admit it to both myself and the rest of the world. I'm running out of energy, and running out of cope.

Between house-hunting, trying to keep up the enthusiasm and effort of fitting into a new job, the emotional tension of my sweetie's transitional work situation, preparing for Pennsic, rehearsing for an upcoming Boston Babydolls performance, trying to pack and plan for traveling to DC next weekend, keeping things rolling for the campaign LARP I'm playing, general family worries, and a few other situations that I can't really write about here, I feel like I'm juggling chainsaws. And it's taking everything I have to keep from dropping one and cutting off a body part I can't survive without.

I'm hanging in there right now - I'm on the frazzled edge of sanity, but at least I haven't crossed the line yet. I'm managing to sleep a little better, and I have absolutely no interest in dropping any of the projects I'm already involved in, but I'm cutting back on *everything* else.

So I apologize if I seem to be vanishing into myself over the next few weeks. I know I haven't been posting as much as I usually do, and I'm probably going to be bailing on a few social engagements. Right now, though, I think I owe it to myself to take any spare minutes I get and spend them curled up by myself or with my sweetie, doing my best to recharge.

It'll get better. I just have to keep telling myself that. Things will calm down, and then I won't feel panicked and overwhelmed all the time, and once I'm not feeling panicked, I'll be able to relax and do better.
Right?

When things calm down, you'll be able to relax. You don't have to worry about "doing better"; friends understand stress and needing to huddle and recuperate.

*hugs*

All of us go through this, don't feel like you need to apologize. Just take the time you need.

Right.

Real Life (tm) gets hectic. Don't fret, we will be here waiting for you to get back in your own good time. Just please do take time to take care of yourself, that is much more important than being here.

What they all said. Sure, we'll miss seeing you as much as we might like, but we all understand. And please consider yourself hugged.

Don't forget to eat and sleep...

Crunchy times

happen. That's when we lean on loved ones and family by choice a lot. Especially if some of them are part of the crunchiness. So remember and ask.
See you at Pennsic at least. Swing by Kilkenny or the Period Games Tent and say hi or let me know what I can do to help.

Well, I hope next weekend (the DC trip) is exactly what you need it to be.

It'll get better. .... Right?

*nodnod* It will. The lion's share of those things you listed are transitional and will improve over time - either progressively or once-it's-done. *hugs*

::hugs::

It will get better.

Remember to breathe...

Sending all the energy I have to spare, and wishing you manage to develop all the cope you need.

One of my favorite quotes was about a person who also felt stressed, where the line was something akin to "she spent huge amounts of energy juggling knives, never realizing that if she let them, they would juggle themselves." Maybe chainsaws can do the same; they're powered, after all.

*Hug*. Yes, things will calm down, and we'll still be here when you can come up for air...
