"Taming" the snake really doesn't seem to be the issue. I was watching at the time of this incident. It wasn't that the snake was aggressive. It seemed to either be a case of mistken identity (snake smells food, senses warm thing, strike at warm thing - with the unfortunate lady's thumb being warmer than the mouse), or inaccuracy (strike, miss the mouse, hit the hand). More a matter of an honest mistake by a critter that just ain't that bright than a matter of a creature that is not tame.
