Santa Fe and Taos are both beautiful, if a bit cool in winter. A beautiful city (in the winter when it is cooler is San Antonio, Texas. The mission trail in San Antonio and elsewhere is wonderful. The River Walk is fantastic, and the shopping is great. The is a really good zoo, and LOTS of history all over the place. (Yes, the Alamo was also a mission.)
