Oof. That sounds traumatic. I think, though, that a lot of it was inferior machine, and some of it was probably that you don't want your dough to be wider than the space you're feeding it into. I would also recommend not taking it all the way to the seventh setting if you're using the sheets to make ravioli. Other than that, I think other people have probably said everything I would say.
