ladyspriteToday has been a good day.
I woke up at a decent hour, rather than at 4am, and got to putter around the dining room assembling trays of cookies to give to friends as holiday gifts.![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
umbran made me tea, and tafkad called to sing to me.
Then I went out to dim sum with about 20 of my dearest friends (much to both my and the restaurant's amazement - somehow I had never *actually* guessed that that many people would show up). There was tiny food, and much laughter, and the melding of multiple social circles, and I was surprised with incredibly sweet gifts ranging from custom artwork to beautiful sparkly fiber to spin to a rubber duckie dressed up like a Roman centurion.
And then I came home, since I'm not quite feeling well enough to face the crowds that would be inevitable if we went to the movies, and spent the afternoon cuddling, putting up our holiday lights, decorating our tree, and playing with my spinning wheel.
The past month or so have been rather difficult - I've been fighting fairly severe pain, work stress, fear, cold, dark, and a host of other problems, and it's been a challenge to remember that there are good things in the universe, and that I am loved. Today, all of that just kind of faded into the fog of a mostly-forgotten nightmare in the light of a bright and better day.
I am very, very lucky...
