I've read two of Genova's books, Still Alice and Loving Anthony (which I just finished a few days ago, but already gave my sister to read, so apologies that I can't lend it to you!) Her works is very well researched from the technical standpoint, and the emotional life of her characters is wonderfully rich, as is her ability to write in very genuine, despite some difficult challenges (a narrator whose early onset Alzheimer's is progressing, for example).
