Boston Babydolls, Round One Complete
Mar. 19th, 2006 02:05 amOh my god, was that fun.
Oh, wow. Fun. Wow.
Wow. One performance down, three to go. I am so amazingly glad I did this.
Of course, tonight's performance was made even more entertaining by having the zipper on my dress break as I tried to change into it, requiring me to be sewn into said dress. And I wasn't wearing my contact lenses, so I was blind as a bat the whole time I was on stage.
The latter was probably a blessing in disguise, though. On the one hand I couldn't actually make eye contact with the audience, but on the other hand I also couldn't see them staring at me. Everything more than a foot past my nose was a warm, friendly, cheering blur.
And they cheered. And hooted, and applauded, and cheered, and gasped, and.... did I mention it was fun? Have I said wow enough times yet?
I can imagine that sound becoming addictive.
Next week I'll have a functioning dress, and I'll be able to see the audience. The week after that it'll be routine and blase. Right now, though, I'm just going to sit here and wallow for a little bit before I wash off the makeup, comb out the hairspray, and go to sleep....
