Writing has always been cathartic for me. I've kept diaries for as long as I can remember - tiny cute pink things with kittens and wee padlocks when I was a child, a series of single-subject spiral notebooks through high school and college, and now this journal. Over the past years it has become more a venue for practice writing and entertainment, but apparently, when my mind shuts down and I hurt more than my skin can hold, my first thought is to turn it all into words and put it somewhere outside my mind and body. So that's why I'm writing now - for me, for my sanity, not for anyone or anything else.
