Vacation was had. It was good. I am, however, glad beyond belief to be home in my own house, sleeping in my own bed, with my cats and the comfort of my own space.
It had been way too long since my better half and I had a chance to actually relax, go away, and do Cool Stuff with Cool People, and I'm really glad we had this chance. Cons aren't quite vacation, and while we see friends at them, it's not the same as one-on-one or small-group hangout time.
Visiting with friends was a blast. Dinners were had, babies were poked, monuments were seen, museums were bounced around. More details will come when I don't have to leave for work in ten minutes.
Intercon was.... good. I'll admit to being slightly low on cope and high on cranky for parts of it; the downside of going to a con at the end of a long-ish trip is that most of my energy and social competency has been used up, leaving me a little anxious and easily upset. But things kept getting continually better throughout the weekend, until it wound up ending on a pretty high note. Plus, I got to play some spiffy games, talk with good friends, dance at least a little, and wear some faboo costumes and dresses. All in all, a goodness.
And now I am home, and my cats are happy, and my TiVo is full of episodes of Supernatural and True Blood and Top Chef that we missed, and our refrigerator is sadly full of milk and cold cuts that went bad while we were away and not much else, and I have to leave for work, and I miss my friends, and I am at the same time replete with happy memories of having just seen them.
I am, in so many ways, an incredibly lucky person.
