I have yet to find a season that I don't love, in some way or other. Winter, for all that it's cold and difficult, has a beauty that isn't found anywhere else, and opens you up for snuggling and baking and fireplaces and holidays. Spring is rebirth and delight and new things appearing every day. Summer is lazy and easy and warm and gorgeous. Fall is like waking up again after a long nap, and the colors are amazing and every breath feels like it's pulling energy into your body. They're all different, and all wonderful.

That said, the first day that I have to wake up for work before sunrise and wear long sleeves instead of a t-shirt feels a little bit like going into mourning. Summer never quite feels like it lasts long enough, and for all that I look forward to mulled cider and the red splendor of our maple tree, there's a part of me that wants to cry for the loss of 8pm sunsets and sleeveless tops until sometime far too long from now, next year.

Goodbye, summer. You showed up late and left too soon, but I loved you while you were here.
