Sometimes I feel like I have an interesting, or creative, or unusual life. And then I get a glimpse of just the edges of the lives of other people I don't know, and I am boggled.

The other day as I was driving home from work, I passed a gang of children standing on the side of the road. One of them was wearing a traffic cone on his head; given that these kids looked to be in the 6-10 year-old ballpark, the cone was only slightly shorter then he was. The rest were jabbering enthusiastically and frantically waving at all of the passing drivers. I *think* some sort of contest was going on, since when I waved back they all began jumping up and down and high-fiving.

I desperately want to know the rest of the story behind this. Though, given the fact that they were all elementary school kids, there may well be nothing more to it than 'Hey, let's go put traffic cones on our heads and wave at passing cars!' Either way... I'm simultaneously glad beyond belief that little strange incidents like this exist and slightly bummed at feeling incredibly mundane in comparison.
